If you want to catch some great mountain films then don’t miss ‘Best of Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour 2008′ at Silver Star Mountain Resort (one of the premier ski resort’s of British Columbia) which will be Vernon’s 17th annual ‘Best of the festival’ on December 28th 2008. This film festival is being organized at National Altitude Centre (NATC) auditorium located at Silver Star Mountain Resort by Vernon Search and Rescue Group Society.

Some of my friends have plans to go upto Silver Star this weekend. Unfortunately, night skiing at Silver Star (one of the main attractions for localites) has been cancelled for tonight  (December 18th), Friday and Saturday night due to cold temperatures. The good news is that you can enjoy ‘Silver Star Idol’ which is scheduled to be held tonight at The Den. Also, ‘TELUS Terrain Park’  will open this Saturday (December 20th 2008)  with 12 features. The other exciting events for this year include:

•  Vernon Viper Hockey Game on December 19th 2008. Enjoy watching Vernon Vipers Junior A Hockey Team vs Salmon Arm Silverbacks in a laid back Silver star Village environment. To book your tickets call: 250-558-6019.
• You can truly enjoy spirit of Christmas by joining Vernon Community Singers as the stroll through Silver Star village singing Christmas carols on December 22nd around 7.00 pm.
• If you have kids then do take them to Children’s Christmas party at Star Kids Centre to celebrate the holidays from 6pm to 9pm on December 22nd. This Christmas extravaganza will include great games for the kids, art, prizes, balloon twisting, face painting, food and lots lots more. I don’t disagree with them. I had a great time at Big White last weekend.
