If you are a Vancouver resident or visiting Vancouver  in next fifteen days then you shouldn’t miss Vancouver International Film Festival 2009 which will start tomorrow, Thursday - October 1st 2009 and will continue till October 16th 2009. The reason I am asking you to take part in this interesting event is that there are about 377 best films from around the world (about 70 nations) being showcased during this festival. Also, Vancouver International Film Festival is among five largest film festivals in North America.

Three main programming platforms make our festival unique: we screen the largest selection of East Asian films outside of that region, we are one of the biggest showcases of Canadian film in the world and we have a large and important nonfiction program (over one third of films last year were docs).

Attracting a large, attentive and enthusiastic audience of film lovers, the festival remains accessible, friendly and culturally diverse. As the critics say, VIFF is very much a festival “designed for the benefit of people who love films and people who make them.”
