According to the Weather forecast, it will be 35 degrees in the valley this Canada Day long weekend so perfect time to go out and have fun with friends.

Have you been to the largest craft sale in Western Canada in the lovely Okanagan? Well, if no then don’t miss the opportunity to visit Vernon, BC this year for Creative Chaos Craft show. The craft show will take place at Vernon Recreation Centre (located on 3310-37th Avenue.)

The show has more than 200 local artists. I personally enjoy food stalls, performing arts and other creative activities. Also, admission to the show is absouletly free. So, get ready for some cretaive fun.

The Dirty Knobby 6: A Rider’s Weekend

Get ready for some outdoor fun in  the Cariboo Chilcotin region. The Dirty Knobby 6 is being held at Williams Lake, BC on May 31st 2008- June 1st 2008. The registration will start on May 31st around 10.00 am and is about $20/adult and $15/kid( under 16) including lunch.

Do not worry if you are a rookie because there is training before hand which covers bike prep, safety and riding gear, how to tackle hills, log crossings, roots, rocks and ruts.  Every year there are about 100 riders participating in this event. Besides, having fun you can also win a lot of exciting prizes.

26th annual Giant’s Head Run

BC residents have quite an active lifestyle. They love to organize and participate in outdoor activities. One of the interesting local event is Giant’ Head Run.  26th annual Giant’s Head Run will take place in Summerland, British Columbia on Saturday, June 7th 2008.

The race will start at 6.00 pm(Library Arts Centre-9525 Wharton Street) and will finish at 7.30 pm(Aquatic and fitness centre-13205 Kelly Avenue). There are about $1500 to be won in draw prizes and participation fee varies from $10-$35/ person.

Paintball at Silverstar

Good news for Paintball lovers ! Silver Star mountain resort is ready to offer paintball attraction to the guests this summer. Silver Star is already world famous for its Bike park in summer and now paintball would be another activity that guests can enjoy while at the resort. Silver Star’s cool and dry summer weather is perfect for paintball game.

In the words of General Manager Michael Sherwood:

“We’ve seen tremendous growth in Silver Star Bike Park in the past three years and we recognized the need to build on our success. We think Silver Star Paintball fits that need as it offers another unique alternative to the Silver Star experience.”

Location : It will be located in parking lot E, in a location well to the west of Silver Star’s main village, opposite the entrance to the Ridge sub- division.

Opening Date and Timings: Silver Star Paintball will open June 26, coinciding with the launch of the summer biking and hiking season. The courses will be open every Thursday to Sunday during the summer season, from noon until 8 p.m.
